Xiaomi is working to introduce its third brand after Redmi & Mi. To compete with rivals like Oppo & Vivo, which are majorly dependent on offline sales, Xiaomi will focus strictly on offline sale strategy under the new brand.
The third brand could be named Lanmi.
The first smartphone under the new brand is said to be unveiled towards the end of July 2017.
The new sub-brand will be positioned between the Mi & Redmi series in terms of design quality & pricing as well.
The brand is said to focus on young people.
Xiaomi is said to rope in influential personalities for endorsing the new brand & smartphones to follow ahead.
The leaked image of the alleged smartphone looks very similar to the recently launched OnePlus 5and Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
Xiaomi, once dubbed as the “Apple of China”, inaugurated its first Mi Home Store in India & aims to add around 100 Mi Home Store by the year 2018. The company is also diversifying towards IoT devices, like smart TVs, set-top boxes, air purifiers, water purifiers, rice cookers, robot vacuums, fitness trackers, & even shoes.
