  • Many new entrants tap ecommerce companies for market research as ecommerce platforms provide specific insights that these new entrants might be lacking.
  • iVooMi, Chinese smartphone maker, and Flipkart have been working together to understand the sales of smartphones in rural market in India.
  • The company, along with internal marketing research and Flipkart’s data points, is able to build a smartphone priced below Rs.10000 with all the consumer expected smartphone features.
  • The smartphones are targeted to rural India at tier-II and tier-III towns, launching with two entry-level smartphones, in the third week of July 2017.
  • Currently, iVooMi manufactures smartphones in China based on sales in India, and are planning to open R&D office in Tharwani by 2018. And also the company may sell its phone in tier-IV cities if everything goes well.
