Nestle India launches Maggi noodles in local flavours

  • Nestle India Ltd, the local arm of Swiss company Nestle SA has for the first time introduced products with local flavors of Maggi instant noodles by launching Amritsari Achari, Mumbaiya Chatak, Super Chennai & Bengali Jhaal.
  • Nestle India has also introduced a new pack of three units each of the four flavours priced at Rs240 & tied up with Google to promote the new flavors.
  • Before introducing the products at retail outlets, they will be initially sold on online marketplace Paytm Mall.
  • This is the second time Nestle is selling on an online market place.
  • The first being when it relaunched Maggi noodles on Snapdeal, after it was banned by regulator Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
  • However the entire stock was sold within the first two hours, resulting in 45 million packs of Maggi noodles being sold within two weeks of the relaunch.
