Mahindra & Mahindra is now in ownership of Jawa & BSA motorcycles, which means the Yezdi is back!
Mahindra would make these motorcycles available in India within a year or two.
The launch of the website ‘Yezdis of India’ was recently announced by Anand Mahindra adding another positive sign.
The exact launch date is not yet decided.
Mahindra & Mahindra is changing their strategy as far as the two-wheeler business is concerned & is moving away from the commuter segment to high-end premium bikes & is working on bikes based on BSA & Yezdi brands.
With this M&M is now poised to diversify its product portfolio in India, especially with two-wheelers, which so far only has small displacement commuter motorcycles & the Mojo.
It will now retail premium motorcycles under the Jawa/Yezdi & BSA brands.
Czech motorcycle manufacturer Jawa can make an appearance at the 2018 Auto Expo. When launched in India, Royal Enfield can have a direct & stiff competition from a brand that may have been missing from the market for long but continues to hold a special place in the Indian motorcyclist’s mind.
