Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecommunications services provider, announced a partnership with Amazon for Amazon’s fire TV with voice remote which was launched in India.
Airtel is all set to enter into a deal with Amazon to distribute the American ecommerce giant’s content through Airtel TV app.
Airtel is also in the process of partnering with other content providers as well including FastFlimz.
Airtel recently acquired a strategic stake in Juggernaut Books. That provides movies and music to e magazines.
Vodafone India and Idea are also entering into similar tie-ups.
Content is emerging as a key factor in India’s intensively competitive telecom market. All these tie-ups and free subscriptions are largely aimed to attract the younger crowd who don’t want to be restricted by traditional TV cable.
