Rs 1000 crore Capex Plan for Hathway Cable

  • Hathway Cable and Datacom, a fixed line broadband internet service provider is planning to invest up to Rs1000 crore in the next 3 years to expand its presence in the broadband business while targeting an addition of 1 million subscribers by that time.
  • It is also planning to add 500,000 customers in Chennai and expects a CapEx of around Rs 500 crore in the next 3 years.
  • Tamil Nadu is the largest state for telecom and they see a huge potential. The company has launched its services in Chennai and is aiming to expand its presence to 10 more cities in the state. It is also setting up a data center in Chennai.
  • The company will offer end-to-end fiber solution. The consumption of over-the-top(OTT) content from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HOOQ is increasing and would require high-speed reliable services.
  • The company has tied up with Cisco, Oracle, ZTE and Nokia for hardware and software components.
