PepsiCo has launched its made-in-India Doritos from its modern manufacturing line in West Bengal.

Earlier PepsiCo introduced Doritos in India through imports to test the potential of snack market and now through its new manufacturing line, the company will make the chips available in 40 cities of the country.

Jagrut Kotecha, VP- snacks category at PepsiCo said that Nachos being the fastest growing category in the 200-core Indian salty snacks segment and therefore Doritos is well poised to address the huge demand.

Doritos is the third master brand of PepsiCo after Lay’s and Kurkure and has presence in 55 countries globally.

Though PepsiCo is engaged in collaborative farming, it chose to outsource corn from Bihar for Doritos and to manufacture at Kolkata plant.
