Is the Ayurveda Ad-War Intensifying in India?

Indian Ayurveda and Herbal products market are growing at a faster speed than ever before. The credit goes to brand Patanjali which has spread the Ayurveda revolution throughout the country.
  • Recently, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), a leading FMCG player in the country started advertising around its Ayurveda portfolio- Ayush taking a dig at the other players in this category.
  • Brands which own an Ayurveda based products portfolio are now gearing up to reach out to the consumers.
  • They are reinforcing their advertising budgets and strengthening their distribution systems.
  • Previously brands such as Vicco, Baidyanath, Medimix, and Hamam used to promote their natural products but not on a large scale. However, Patanjali went for massive advertising and took a dig at other FMCG players.
  • The industry is slated for another advertising war just like what happened in cola, telecom, e-commerce or auto.
It will be interesting to see how the brands take this fight forward in coming days.
