BookMyShow acquires Hyderabad-based MastiTickets

  • BookMyShow (BMS) has acquired online ticketing platform MastiTickets for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition includes transfers of all MastiTickets’ assets along with existing cinema partnerships to BMS.
  • MastiTickets started in operations in 2014. The platform grew and expanded its hold intensely in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It has partnerships with 120 cinema halls.
  • The acquisition is a strategic move by BMS to strengthen its hold in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Ashish Hemrajani, CEO, and Co-Founder, BMS, says that they are on an aggressive growth plan to increase its reach and presence.
  • Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region give them diverse entertainment preferences in terms of both genres and languages, which leads to huge growth potential.
  • In 2013, BookMyShow had acquired Chennai-based online ticketing player TicketGreen. In 2015, it acquired a majority stake in Bengaluru-based social media analytics start-up Eventifier.
  • This shows that BMS is on a really aggressive strategy to grow and expand its reach across all regions in India.
