Kia Motors firms up sales strategy ahead of India launch

South Korean auto firm Kia Motors Co. which is expected to launch its India operations in the second half of 2019 will hold road shows in August & September to identify prospective dealer partners.
  • Dealers attending each event in the roadshow will get to learn about Kia’s business strategy & the company’s plans for establishing its new Indian dealer network.
  • Kia Motors has launched its India website which hosts information about the road shows to be held in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata & New Delhi.
  • The company plans to produce a compact sedan & a compact SUV, especially for the Indian market.
  • Kia Motors had signed a MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government to build a manufacturing facility at an investment of $1.1 billion.
  • The site will incorporate facilities for stamping, welding, painting, assembly & is expected to produce up to 300,000 cars each year.
