Starbucks has introduced Teavana specialty teas in 88 of its stores, betting on the world’s third-highest tea-consuming country.
Teavana, an American specialty tea retailer present in over 400 locations across the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Middle East was acquired by Starbucks in 2012.
With this, it becomes the only coffeehouse chain to offer a large variety of tea in its cafes.
Starbucks has launched 18 lines of Teavana teas at the Starbucks India outlets, priced between Rs 150 and Rs 300
It was already serving nine varieties of tea and will double its tea offering with its new range.
With the launch of Teavana, Starbucks hopes to change the way Indians drink tea usually round the street at what is called a “tapri” or a corner tea stall, through its range of premium offering.
