Jewelers go Digital this Akshaya Tritiya


The recent Pandemic has brought new changes to many traditional industries and sectors. One of the prominent among them is the Indian Jewellery Sector. This Akshaya Tritiya the traditional Jewellers of India are resorting to Digital Platforms to sell gold and are offering heavy discounts as high as ₹ 1000 per 10 grams to woo the customers who are not stepping out due to the heavy lockdown.


Aditya Pethe, Director, WHP Jewellers states that Indian Jewellers have missed out on a huge opportunity during the recent Gudi Padwa and wedding season due to COVID-19 and resulting lockdown. However, with the approaching Akshaya Tritiya, WHP Jewellers were astonished by the number of inquiries being received for pre-bookings. Due to a large number of inquiries from their regular customers, WHP started taking bookings for Akshaya Tritiya online from 21st April onwards on their E-commerce platform. WHP is assuring deliveries to customers post lockdown. 


Similarly, Vaibhav Saraf, Director, Aisshpra Gems & Jewels, and Tanya Rastogi, Director, Lala Jugal Kishore Jewellers narrate their encounters with eager inquiries of customers on their toll-free numbers and Social Media Handles for fixing gold rates and pre-bookings. Taking these into consideration, they are planning to fix gold rates for future deliveries and are also offering heavy discounts up to ₹ 1000 per 10 grams.


This recent pandemic has surely changed the rules and shattered the walls of trade and commerce across the globe. With many industries and businesses on the verge of collapse, certain ones are lucky enough to make minor modifications to their traditional ins-outs and try to build upon the lost opportunities.
