On 15th January 1913 founders Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin created Bamford and Martin limited and started their work in a workshop on Henniker Mews in London.
In 1914 the name Aston Martin was adopted. This decision was inspired by Lionel’s success at the Aston Hill Climb in Buckinghamshire.
Within a year, the first ever ASTON MARTIN was built and was registered with the name.
ASTON MARTIN participated in the 1922 French Grand Prix and took a historic step in overseas competition with two cars completing the race.
They built almost around 140 cars in 1937. ASTON MARTIN DB5 was chosen to be James Bond’s car of choice in classic film Goldfinger in 1964. Rest is the history.
